In cooperation with and assistance from the Japanese Takashimaya Group, DinTaiFung opened a branch in Japan. DinTaiFung's steamed dumplings became a big hit in Japan and in March 2001, they opened its fifth branch with a plan to open five more in the near future.

From Tokyo, Yokohama, Kyoto, Nagoya to Kumamoto of Kujyu in the South, DinTaiFung has successfully attracted many Japanese diners and increased the value of Chinese food in Japan.
